Was born in Georgetown, Guyana, moving to London at the age of 13.
Over the last 40 years, he has collaborated with reggae artists such as Sly and Robbie, Pato Banton, Jah Shaka and Horace Andy, as well as artists outside the realm of traditional reggae and dub, such as Sade, Massive Attack, The Orb, Gaudi, the Brazilian DJ Marcelinho da lua, Grace Jones, and Perry Farrel.
He teamed up with Lee “Scratch” Perry for the first time in 1983 for the recording of the album Mystic Warrior.
He continues to tour the world, already in 2019 he has played in England, Spain, France, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, India and Barbados.
Mad Professor is one of Dub’s most influential pioneers in the second generation of reggae and the brains and talent behind Ariwa Sounds, an institution of British reggae, from where hundreds of original recordings have been produced.
